Canada: Municipality of Whistler Declares May 2009 as Falun Dafa Month Honoring Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance

(Clearwisdom.net) On the occasion of the 17^th anniversary of the introduction of Falun Dafa to the public, and marking the 10^th year since the Chinese Communist Party began the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, Acting Mayor Grant Lamont of the Resort Municipality of Whistler, Canada, declared May 2009 to be Falun Dafa Month Honoring Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Whereas Falun Dafa is an advanced exercise meditation practice of mind, body, and spirit that has brought health and well-being to people across Canada; and

Whereas Falun Dafa practitioners practice the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and incorporate it into their daily lives, striving to become better people in all environments and situations; and

Whereas Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa is to be commended and publicly recognized for his commitment to promoting better health and moral living throughout the world; and

Whereas The Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners represents a severe example of the violation of human rights and civil liberties;

Now Therefore I, Grant Lamont, Acting Mayor of the Resort Municipality of Whistler, do hereby declare May 2009 to be Falun Dafa Month Honoring Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
